Barton Caplan
Barton Caplan is a produced audiobook narrator for Penguin and a city walker. His photography is a direct result of navigating Los Angeles and its historic restaurants, vintage movie theaters, and alleyways. He documents the cinematic noir found in the textures of recovery and decay across Los Angeles. For him, the camera is a way to find clarity. In each photograph, the subject has the final say.
Edition and Provenance
Every Gutterstars print is a unique 1/1 artifact. The studio retains only one Artist Proof and one Exhibition Proof for archival purposes only. Neither is available for private sale. Once a work is collected, it is retired from production.
Technical Integrity & Scale
Each print is realized on a 20×26 inch sheet of museum-grade Canson Platine Fiber Rag, with an 18×24 inch image area and a one-inch white border. Produced at full archival quality for maximum tonal depth and longevity, every print is hand-signed and issued with a custom letterpress Certificate of Authenticity.
